“From Garden to Table: Growing an Edible Garden”

Presenter: Dr. George (Chip) Wilmot, III - Neurologist (Emory) and gardener of all things edible

Edible plants provide not only delicious nutrients to our diet, but beautiful color and plant material for our gardens. Join us as we learn about the varieties that grow well in our area and their multiple uses in livening up our menu.

Dr. Chip is an Emory neurologist by weekday and an avid gardener by evening and weekends. He and his wife, Janice, have cultivated and consumed edible plants from their own garden since moving to Lilburn in 1993. Agreeing their landscape was boring, they transformed their yard into an edible garden. They now tend over 30 varieties including pineapple guava, figs, lemon thyme, blueberries, and alpine strawberries to name a few. Their story has been featured in Atlanta magazine. Following the presentation, we’ll enjoy some of the Wilmots’ home grown produce.
