Field Trip to the Cottages at Vaughn

Our field trip this year will be a perfect pairing to follow our April meeting on sustainable gardening. You are invited to join us for this special evening event, a private, guided tour of the Cottages on Vaughn. This unique pocket community includes sustainable gardens. The tour is given by Will Johnston, Executive Director of MicroLife Institute, and Tres Crow, owner of Roots Down. Enjoy wine and hors d’oeuvres as we stroll the sustainable gardens and even get to tour one of the eight micro-cottage homes on the half-acre land.

MicroLife Institute, with the support of then-Mayor Ted Terry of Clarkston, developed The Cottages on Vaughn as a new way to look at residential living with sustainability with the carbon footprint and community in mind. Come see how people live comfortably in an 800 square foot home and visit on their front porches, by the fire pit or strolling through the landscape.
