Teresa Parrish, Decatur Gardener

Teresa Parrish inherited Ryan Gainey’s property and will share what it is like learning to garden in the often toured and always celebrated garden.

During his life, Ryan taught, inspired and freely shared his knowledge. The garden’s life after his death has been a series of trial and error, volumes of reading, and a fair amount of panic and tears.

Teresa is a Decatur resident, stay-at-home mom, and recent student of soil, plants, and sun. The family sold their home across the street to start a two year project of renovating and rebuilding a series of structures in and around the garden.
